This Storytime STEM-Pack includes all the materials you need to engage children in a mathematics activity that addresses geometry concepts, in particular attributes of shapes. The activity is launched by reading the popular children’s book Square, followed by the children sorting shapes and describing their attributes. The children then work in small groups to sculpt their own shapes using clay and straws. The activity concludes with children sharing their shapes with the whole group. NOTE: Storytime STEM-packs users will need to submit a list of any kit consumables that were used while in your classroom so they can be replenished for the next reservation.
